Extended Abstract: The Enduring Value(s) of Cultural Research Methods in TPC

Building on recent social justice work in TPC, as well as critiques of this work’s postmodernist theoretical roots, our panel aims to illustrate the enduring critical, organizational, and pedagogical value of cultural research methodologies. Through praxis-oriented scholarship drawing from critical-cultural theories such as inter-sectional feminism, disability studies, critical race theory, decoloniality, and Gramscian hegemony, we highlight how the legitimation and delegitimation of diverse knowledges is still crucial to understanding and intervening in today’s social justice challenges in TPC.
