Electromagnetic Field Analysis on Ringing Phenomenon of Inductor Driven by Inverter Considering Stray Capacitance

In recent power electronics equipment applying GaN semiconductor, etc., the ringing phenomenon, which is the oscillation in the waveform of current due to the short rising and falling time, increases noise and loss. To design magnetic devices in such power electronics equipment, the ringing phenomenon is tried to be simulated using the electromagnetic field analysis taking account of the stray capacitance in this paper. The stray capacitance of the windings is modeled by taking account of the displacement current, and its effect on ringing phenomenon is examined. It is shown that the ringing phenomenon can be represented by taking account of the stray capacitance.
