Magnetic Resonance Imaging Using a Magnetoresistive Sensor with a Flux Transformer

In this study, we developed a signal detection unit composing a magnetoresistive (MR) sensor and flux transformer circuit for ultra-low field magnetic resonance imaging (ULF-MRI). The equivalent noise level of the detection unit was reduced to approximately 1/20 using the flux transformer comparing to the original MR sensor. We also demonstrated an ULF-MRI measurement using a phantom. The obtained results confirmed the potential of the MR sensor-based detection unit for the ULF-MRI measurements.
