Magnetotransport properties of Mn2CoSb

Magnetotransport properties of melt-spun ribbons of Mn
2
CoSb Heusler alloy were investigated. Electrical resistivity ρ
xx
does not obey the Mooij correlation. Calculation of normal Hall coefficients R
0
revealed a dominant role of electrons in electrical transport of the alloy until 200 K. At room temperature, the hole-like conductivity predominates. R
0
is of about ~ 10
^-3
– 10
^-4
and the anomalous Hall coefficient RS is of about ~ 10
^-1
. Dependence ${{\text{R}}_{\text{s}}}\sim {{\rho}_{{\text{xx}}}}^2$ points to the mechanism of the anomalous Hall effect, independent of the concentration of the scatterers. Pronounced hysteretic features of ρ
xx
were observed upon application and removal of the magnetic field. The hysteresis width decreases with increasing temperature and completely disappeared above T
g
. It was suggested that the observed hysteresis of ρ is related to a magnetic after-effect in the region of randomly frozen spin states.
