Design as a Way to Involve the End User in Information Security Issues

Ensuring information security and countering cyber attacks is a new challenge faced by modern society in the process of mass use of automated processing tools. Most people, using electronic devices, do not know the rules of digital security and do not even suspect what consequences their “innocent”, at first glance, actions may have. So a user can become a victim of a cyber attack, part of a botnet due to non-compliance with the basic rules of cyber hygiene and will not even suspect it. In this regard, the development of domestic information and analytical resources for mass use and attracting attention to cyber security issues becomes an urgent problem. The purpose of this study is to popularize information security and increase people's awareness of existing threats in automated systems. One of the priority tasks facing the development of an information resource was the creation of a practical and user-friendly human-machine interface design. The problem of this work is the study of design as a way to attract the end user in order to increase digital literacy and simplify the process of working with information. To solve the problem, statistics were collected based on a survey of university students about their perception of various UI (User Interface) and UX (U ser Experience) elements. As a result, rules were developed for the use of UX/UI elements in the development of information and information-analytical resources in the field of information security.
