Narrow spectral bandwidth passively mode-locked pulsed fiber system at 1030 nm

We report the generation of narrow spectral bandwidth, high energy pulses using a narrow bandwidth fiber bragg grating. To limit the spectral broadening due to nonlinear effects a large core diameter gain fiber is adopted. The spectral bandwidth of 0.07 nm is obtained for 280 ps pulses with pulse energy of 1.6$\mu$J at a repetition rate of 6.28 MHz, corresponding to average output power of 10.2 W and 5.5 kW of peak power.
