Inkjet-Printed and Photonically Sintered Antennas Based on Copper Nanoparticles

This study evaluates the performance and radiation patterns of inkjet-printed antennas compared to the behavior of antennas manufactured using conventional technologies. The analysis includes the investigation of two printed monopole antennas: one operating at 955 MHz and the other at 2.4 GHz. The printing and photonic sintering of antennas have several key advantages over the use of conventional printed circuit board technologies, including the ability to produce antennas on flexible materials with a high degree of cost effectiveness, coupled with efficient use of materials and resources. The results of this study indicate that the inkjet-printed monopole antennas exhibit a slight decrease in antenna gain across both setups and frequency ranges. However, the antennas show comparable transmission characteristics and gains to those obtained using conventional printed circuit board techniques.
