A Design Of Wideband Midfield Transmitter for Wireless Power Transfer To Biomedical Implants

In this paper, we present a wideband transmitter (Tx) for adaptive midfield wireless power transfer (WPT) to biomedical implants. A bipolar multiple-loops radiating plane is implemented to obtain the focusing field characteristic. Meanwhile, the bipolar radiator is excited by an excitation plane on the bottom of the proposed Tx without using any phase adjustment method. Moreover, an impedance matching network (IMN) using two U-shaped stubs and a closed stub is analyzed to obtain a wide operating frequency band. Verification results show that our proposed Tx operates well in a frequency band from 1.25 GHz to 2.4 GHz, with a bandwidth of 1150 MHz. Furthermore, efficiency verification shows that the proposed Tx is suited for multiple human body properties.
