A Hierarchical Anti-Interference Channel Hopping Algorithm based on ZigBee Priority

The Internet of Things (IoT) heterogeneous fusion gateway is a gateway device that connects networks with different communication protocol types, such as WiFi, BLE, ZigBee, LoRa, and so on. The WiFi, BLE, and ZigBee protocols all operate in the 2.4GHz frequency band, making them susceptible to interference, with ZigBee being particularly affected by WiFi interference. To address this issue, this paper proposes a hierarchical anti-interference channel hopping algorithm based on ZigBee priority, built upon the cellular network model. When interference occurs, the algorithm selects the optimal channel for hopping by calculating the interference Level of each frequency band. By employing the hierarchical anti-interference approach, the efficiency of channel interference resistance is enhanced, effectively addressing the majority of interferences caused by spectrum overlap. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce Packet Error Rate(PER).
