A Digital Monitoring System Based on Pressure Sensor Array for Manipulation Under Anesthesia

Manipulation under anesthesia is a simple and non-invasive method for the treatment of frozen shoulders. However, due to the lack of digital monitoring equipment, intraoperative injuries may occur if the surgeon fails to control the manipulation force properly. To monitor the mechanics of the surgery, a mechanics monitoring system was designed in this paper. The system is calibrated and tested for early warning under simulated conditions. Based on the feedback from the system, the surgeon can be assisted to adjust the manipulation in time. These results underscore the tremendous potential of the system to fulfill medical equipment needs that can assist subsequent predictions and analyses.
