Mobile Based Navigation System for Visually Impaired Person Using Image Detection with Voice Translation

Individuals with visual impairments face difficulties in self-navigation, particularly in unfamiliar outdoor environments, which can lead to safety concerns. This paper presents a mobile-based navigation system that utilizes image detection and voice translation technologies to assist visually impaired individuals in navigating their surroundings. The system was tested on an Android application, which received positive and satisfactory feedback. The system’s features were shown to be working and provide good performance in an ideal environment for the blind. The researchers conducted experimentation, analysis, and tests to determine the applicability of the system. They tested their algorithms on existing datasets, enhanced and added trained datasets, discussed the results and their relevance, analyzed the results, and highlighted the implications of this study.
