Modernization of the Electromagnetic Field Formation System for Bistatic Measurements

This paper investigates the modernization of antenna characteristics using a hyperbolic lens in the centimeter frequency range. This design allows you to improve the characteristics of the field, reduce the distance to the quiet zone. The lens parameters were optimized and the characteristics of the field areas behind the lens were numerically investigated. The lens with the calculated parameters was printed on a 3D printer. Experiments were carried out to measure the near field of the antenna with and without a lens using a 2D scanner. It is shown that the use of lenses narrows the main loop of the radiation pattern. This antenna-lens system can be used to measure the parameters of various materials, reducing the influence of diffraction effects.
