Active Voltage and Active Power Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generator by Using Novel Optimal Control of Current Source Converter

The extraction of optimal power from wind energy-based doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) is an emerging area of research. Long-distance transmission systems are frequently connected with large-scale wind farms. The critical point voltage of a DFIG has a stability issue because of the change in wind speed. The capabilities of reactive power in the wind farm have been analyzed and the reactive power requirement of the system to keep constant access point voltage regardless of the variation in wind speed using a decoupled programmable control circuit has been done. For the DFIG wind energy conversion system (WECS), a unique current source converter (CSC) control technique is suggested. Although most studies on wind energy systems use voltage source converters, the shortcomings of conventional CSCs, such as large passive devices, low switching frequency, and slow dynamic performance, can be overcome with the advancement of semiconductor technology and reverse block insulated gate bipolar transistor (RB-IGBT) devices with high switching frequencies. WECS based on CSCs also has a number of benefits, including resilience, built-in fault ride-through capabilities, short-circuit protection, and more.
