Experimental Investigation of Voltage Regulation Using ELC for Two Self-Excited Induction Generators Connected in Parallel

Self-excited induction generator (SEIG) is one of the promising sources of power generation in the off-grid mode of the micro hydro-power system. To have a more reliable source in rural, parallel operation of sources is much needed, but paralleling two SEIG with different ratings is always a challenge. The requirement of loads can be full fill by connecting two sources in parallel but in the off-grid system, be it parallel or single source, the terminal voltage is not constant and vary with loads. An attempt is made to operate two SEIGs with different ratings in parallel and keep the terminal voltage constant using an electronic load controller. The proposed method is tested using MATLAB and validated with hardware experiments.
