Zone Wise Random Space Vector Based Spread Spectrum PWM For Improving Inverter Non-Linearities

This paper illustrates the randomization of inactive vectors with fixed switching frequencies in different spatial regions inside the sector for compensating the inverter's non-linearity, such as the current ripple and dead time effects, which are not discussed in existing literature. It improves the harmonic spreading of discrete switching frequency components into continuous ones. Within every segment of the spatial vector diagram, the perimeters of the spatial domains for each sequence are adjusted as necessary through the randomization of the dormant vectors. To exhibit the superiority of the novel scheme, the voltage and current spectra are presented along with a current ripple analysis of different regions in terms of stator flux ripple.
