Energy and Economic Comparison of Virtual and Physical Power Sharing

In the actual energy transition scenario self-consumption started to spread to support a more distributed generation and to contribute to the sustainable development, encouraging energy efficiency and promoting renewable energy sources. In Italy the virtual self-consumption model is already regulated, but an important issue remains: defining the possibility of physically sharing electrical energy. In the paper, two different methods are presented and compared: one applying the Italian virtual self-consumption model (Modello Regolatorio Virtuale - MRV), the other one applying an innovative physical self-consumption model (Power Sharing - PS). This will be done by analysing the application to a real apartment building to see which method is the most convenient both from energetic and economic point of view.
