Ultrasonic Distance Measuring Spectacles and Waist Belt with Alert System for Blind People

An electronic-based system was introduced to blind and visually impaired persons. The ultrasonic sensor used in the proposed solution detects the impediments behind and in front of the person. There is no need to carry the whole system as it is mounted on the wearable glass and the waist belt. It is a very lightweight system. The ultrasonic sensor mounted on the glass acts as an eye. The sensor constantly transmits and receives ultrasonic waves to receive the data. It gives a buzzer sound whenever the object is in Infront of the person. The sensor present on the backside of the person which is neatly mounted on the belt will detect obstacles. A vibration sensor is used to give a vibration sensation whenever the obstacles are behind the person. The microcontroller is constantly getting this data from the sensor. The system’s embedded microcontroller-based AT89S52/LPC2148 system processes the real-time data gathered by an ultrasonic sensor network
