Modeling and Simulation of 360 kW Photovoltaic Power Plant for the Perspective of Bangladesh by using MATLAB/Simulink

Worldwide electrical generation is mostly dependent on fossil fuels. The world is now adopting renewable energy options due to the different side effects of fossil fuels on nature. The solar-based energy-generating system is currently the best option for renewable energy. Bangladesh is also adopting solar-based projects as the irradiance and temperature are compatible with energy generation. This study shows the current condition of solar-based energy generation worldwide along with the current condition of energy generation in Bangladesh. The study proposed the modeling and simulation of a 360 kW photovoltaic grid-connected system with an MPPT control technique for the boost converter using MATLAB and Simulink. A preferable efficiency of the boost converter was obtained during simulation using the perturb and observe MPPT control technique. The proposed system can be used for small-scale local energy supply in rural areas of Bangladesh.
