Revolutionizing Business Decision-Making: An Analysis of AI-Based Services

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used to make important decisions due to the exponential growth of data in both society and business. However, current literature does not adequately address how to categorize and organize AI-based services according to decision-making patterns. To fill this gap, we present and assess seven styles for AI-based decision-making processes, focusing on the company context and building on the concept of justification in knowledge. Using correlations, we analyze real-world examples of businesses providing AI-based services. Our research provides a foundation for future studies and aids experts in developing AI-based services, while also contributing to situation theory and descriptive understanding of AI. Customers' reliance on AI-based services for personal and important decisions makes our research particularly relevant.
