Pattern Scanning of THz Elliptical Apertures Antenna Array Design for Intensity Enhancement in Spectroscopy

The advantage of resonantly THz antennas is the enhancement of electromagnetic fields in the spectroscopy. Our proposed design includes a spectroscopy setup, which contains THz elliptical aperture antenna array. The designed antenna improves radiation characteristics to obtain the maximum intensity value of the spectroscopy beam at the far-field zone. The THz antenna radiation is scanned at the various elevation angles and radiates into the assigned biomaterial. The scanning of radiation and the placement of a conductor as the biomaterial substrate help to determine the highest intensity. Hence, the utilized THz elliptical aperture antenna array and the conductor, have the role of an emitter and reflector in our spectroscopy setup, respectively. Different types of urea biomaterial with the different permittivities are chosen as a sample to calculate the intensity of spectroscopy beam.
