Power Saving in Multi-Hop Device to Device Communication

In this paper a method has been proposed to save power in multi-hop Device to Device communication. D2D [1] communication provides a lot of advantages like increase in spectral efficiency and improve throughput. In multi-hop D2D [1] communication there are multiple hops present in the path from source device to destination device. The routing path in our proposal is decided at every hop on the basis of the signal strength, bandwidth and access technology. A feedback mechanism is also provided which will provide feedback to the previous hop about real power consumption and Radio Access Technology. The idea provides a mechanism to user by which he can control the maximum power or total power consumption for whole transaction and each device makes its own decision based on its supported access technology and power control command received from source device to transmit the data to destination. The device which is the originator of the D2D [1] communication can send information and the commands for power consumption which it and next devices in hope can use for this transaction. Hence smartly choosing most desirable hop and access technology at every level of the routing path can help in saving Power.
