Heat Dissipation Design and Power Consumption Estimation of CRAFT Converter

To guarantee the successful completion of the Fusion Technology Integrated Research Facility (CRAFT) project, this paper presents the thermal design of the converter. After conducting a comparative analysis, the flow channel of the thyristor radiator is determined. Subsequently, the overall temperature and water pressure are analyzed using FLUENT in ANSYS. Additionally, the power consumption of all equipment is calculated to preliminary estimate the cooling water consumption of the power system. The design results of this paper will provide valuable guidance for the successful implementation of this project.
