Frequency Stability Enhancement in Solar PV System using Fractional Order Controllers

The advantages of renewable energy sources like low carbon emission, sustainability, energy security and economic development encourages the use of distributed energy resources. As the renewable energy share increases, the system stability will become an issue. This work analyses the frequency stability enhancement of the solar PV assisted system using deloading technique and different types of noninteger controllers. The system is simulated for three cases, sudden change in load, high penetration and bad weather condition. The fractional order controllers improves the dynamic performance of the system. The simulation is done using MATLAB FOMCON toolbox. The controller parameters are optimized using Particle swarm optimization algorithm.
