A Compact Ku-band Relativistic Triaxial Klystron Amplifier

A compact relativistic triaxial klystron amplifier (TKA) with two cascaded single-gap bunching cavities is presented. For the faster modulation of electron beam and the shorter length of the device, the input cavity and cascaded single-gap bunching cavities with energy coupling are employed. Moreover, the length from the input cavity to the output cavity is about 114 mm in Ku-band. The simulation results demonstrate that the peak output power can reach 649 MW at 14.0 GHz. The corresponding efficiency is about 37.9%, and the gain is 42.1dB.
