Investigation on Maximum Operating Bandwidth for Sheet Beam Slow-wave Structures

In future electronic devices, the ultrawideband property will be a severe challenge. This paper proposed a sheet-beam slow-wave structure (SB-SWS) to realize the high-power operation in an ultrawide frequency range. Coalesced-Mode Operation for a Sheet-Beam Traveling-Wave Tube is introduced to achieve ultrawideband property. Simulation results demonstrate that the optimized RF circuit produces over 2.5kW output power (
$\sim\mathbf{10}\%$
efficiency) in a very broad frequency from 18 to 26 GHz, corresponding to a relative bandwidth of 36.4%.
