Exploration of Metalens Towards The Enhancement of Antenna Performances

For the proper utilization of RF signals available in the environment, there is an high requirement of efficient RF front-ends, which must witness strong circular polarization (CP) features and feasibility from design perspective with high CP antenna gain, strong radiation, and consistent antenna efficiency in the 3.5/5 GHz (sub-6 GHz bands). So, metalensinspired CP printed monopole is reported here in this paper. It attains broadband CP with fractional bandwidth of > 15%, CP gain of > 7.35 dBic, directional radiation pattern with a 3-dB angular beamwidth of > 100°-120° in the 3.5/5 GHz bands, along with improved front-to-back ratio (FBR) within the admissible limits. The attained outcomes subsequently matched with the performance trade-offs obtained from the state-of-the-art. In addition to it, comprehensive design reported for the widespread solution of the limitation, usually faced by the monopole antennas in the vast areas of the RF based urban transformation based on the 5G applications, especially in the lower 5G bands.
