Environmental Feasibility of PV Assisted Intermittent Crop Dryer

In the current investigation, an environmental and economic analysis for a solar photovoltaic assisted drying system was carried out. As part of this analysis, various intermittent drying ratios were taken into consideration. The environmental viability of the project was evaluated by calculating the emission net mitigation of CO
2
and the amount of carbon credits earned annually through the energy yield of the system. An evaluation of the energy efficiency of a PV assisted dryer system was carried out for the city of Ballari in India. The findings demonstrated that the greatest CO
2
abatement occurred during continuous drying at a slope of 30°, whereas intermittent drying at a ratio of 0.75 resulted in the lowest recorded levels of energy consumption.
