A Review on Drive Selection, Converters and Control for Electric Vehicle

The rising consumption of fossil fuels, as well as the substantial environmental damage caused by them, have provided considerable motivation for the growth and progress of fuel-efficient automobiles. Efforts in research and development have been directed toward the creation of innovative concepts, low price systems, and dependable electric powertrains. This paper examines various configurations of electric vehicles (EVs) including hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), traction motors for the electric propulsion system, power converters employedin EVs/HEVs, and superior speed management of traction drive as well as sensorless control. Novel machine topologies providing potential efficiency benefits are also presented.
