Magnetic Levitation Control System Based on ADAMS-MATLAB Co-simulation

In suspension experiments of maglev systems, unexpected situations even dangers may occur. In order to know possible problems in the control in advance, this paper, taking an existing maglev bogie as an example, discusses the method of ADAMS-MATLAB co-simulation in suspension control. First, the characteristics of the maglev bogie system and the single-point suspension control system were analyzed. On this basis, a nonlinear ADAMS model was established and introduced. Then, two controllers, incremental PID controller and fuzzy incremental PID controller, are proposed successively to restrict the changing rate of input current and further improve the performance. Finally, a co-simulation model was built. By co-simulations, the performances of two controllers were analyzed and compared. It shows that: (1) fuzzy incremental PID controller fits the levitation control of the maglev bogie system, and it can improve the system performance greatly, (2) ADAMS-MATLAB co-simulation is feasible for the pre-control of the maglev system, and its results are informative.
