Assessing Shielding Effectiveness of Magnetodielectric-Filled Enclosures using the Robinson and Thomas Model

This paper presents the study results on assessing shielding effectiveness of rectangular enclosures that are filled with magnetodielectric material using the Robinson and Thomas model implemented in the GNU Octave mathematical calculation system. The shielding effectiveness of the enclosure was analyzed in the frequency range of 200 MHz to 1 GHz, while varying the parameters of the magnetodielectric filling and viewpoints. Our study provides valuable insights into the relationship between the enclosure shielding effectiveness and the magnetodielectric filling parameters. We found that the optimal values of the magnetodielectric filling depend on various factors, including the frequency range of interest and the size of the enclosure. Furthermore, we evaluated the performance of the Robinson and Thomas model in predicting the shielding effectiveness of magnetodielectric-filled enclosures. Our results indicate that the model provides accurate predictions of shielding effectiveness, making it a useful tool for engineers and researchers involved in the design and evaluation of electromagnetic shielding systems. Overall, the findings of this study have practical implications for developing magnetodielectric-filled enclosures that provide effective electromagnetic shielding. The results provide valuable information on the optimal design of such enclosures, which can be used to enhance the performance and reliability of electronic systems that are sensitive to electromagnetic interference.
