Optimizing Photovoltaic Performance of MASnPbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells through Layer Thickness Variations

Perovskite materials have gained significant interest in the field of the photovoltaic industry due to their superior power conversion efficiency, broad spectral response, flexibility, stability, and low-cost manufacturing. The bandgap of perovskite materials can be adjusted to improve solar cell efficiency. In this study, a perovskite-based solar cell (MASnPbI
3
) has been designed and investigated. The thickness of the perovskite layer has been varied in a simulator to determine the best performance of the cell. Results indicate that the MASnPbI
3
solar cell delivers optimum PV parameters at 300 nm thick MASnPbI
3
. The optimum performance of the cell is achieved in respect of photovoltaic characteristics: Voc: 0.96 V, Jsc: 35.93 mA/cm
²
, FF:7S.97 %, and PCE: 27.94 %. This makes the MASnPbI
3
solar cell a potential candidate of PV industry.
