Application of Deep Learning in Skin Disease Diagnosis: A Review

The most prevalent causes of skin diseases include bacterial infections, viruses, fungal infections, allergic reactions, etc. Recent advances in photonics-based medical technology and laser technology have enabled the rapid and precise diagnosis of skin disorders. However, diagnostic tools in medicine are limited and, in general, quite expensive. However, the use of an image-based diagnostic system may reduce the required amount of time and money. Image processing and deep learning are two distinct but complementary fields of study that could be coupled for the early detection of skin conditions. However, feature extraction is essential for the classification of skin conditions.
