RF And Computer Vision Based Warning System For Minimizing Road Accidents

According to a World Health Organization (WHO) survey, approximately 1.3 million people die each year due to road traffic crashes [1]. Most of these accidents are caused due to over-speeding. If only there were a pre-emptive warning system which warned the drivers of unnoticed over-speeding. This paper presents the design proposal of a hardware and software-based implementation of a pre-emptive warning system for over-speeding vehicles using the pre-existing surveillance architecture. Using ultra-low power, short-range radio frequency transmitters and receivers and combining that with modern-day deep-learning algorithms we aim to warn and fine rash drivers without much human intervention for a much safer traffic experience.
