A Miniaturized Metasurface Based Dielectric Resonator Antenna for Wireless Communications

For wide bandwidth improvement in wireless communications, a compact dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with meta surface loading on the top is proposed. The proposed antenna has MS as its top layer, DR as its central layer, an aperture-coupled ground plane, and micro strip line feeding as its bottom layer. Above the dielectric resonating antenna (DRA), a meta surface is loaded. An additional TM is obtained over the current TE mode as a result of the meta surface loading. As a result, the TEnl and TM modes broaden the bandwidth. HFSS is used to compute the analysis, while the Vector Network Analyzer device and anechoic chamber atmosphere are used for the actual measurements. feature below -10.00dB are two characteristics of the DRA, which resonates at a bandwidth of 9.9-13.2 GHz. The proposed antenna is simulated using the Simulator for High Frequency Structures (HFSS).
