Quantitative Analysis of Oscillation Stability Based on Virtual Inertia and Damping Control with Application of Energy Storage System

In this paper, a virtual inertia and virtual damping comprehensive control model based on wind farm level energy storage is established to improve the oscillation stability, and the relationship between the control parameters and the real virtual inertia and virtual damping provided by the energy storage system is discussed. In addition, the virtual inertia and virtual damping control based on energy storage is added to the single-machine infinite bus system with permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), and the quantitative relationship between virtual inertia, virtual damping control parameters and oscillation stability is theoretically deduced. Finally, based on the single-machine infinity system and the four-machine system, eigenvalue analysis and time-domain simulation analysis are carried out to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis in this paper.
