Optimal Day-Ahead Dispatch of Air-Conditioning Load under Dynamic Carbon Emission Factors

As one of the most frequently-used household appliances, the air-conditioning load is very suitable to be used for regulating the load profile due to its flexible control ability, large regulation capacity, and slight influence on the consumer comfort. The conventional optimal day-ahead dispatch of air-conditioning load mainly attempts to minimize the electricity cost while considering the consumer comfort. It does not consider the electricity carbon emission for the consumer. Therefore, this work proposes a new optimal day-ahead dispatch of air-conditioning load under dynamic carbon emission factors, which further takes the electricity carbon emission into account. To acquire a high- quality dispatch optimum, an efficient equilibrium optimizer is employed to address the presented new optimal day-ahead dispatch because of its strong ability of global search. Finally, four consumers with different air-conditioning loads and different room temperature requirements are designed to verify the proposed technique. The case studies show that the electricity cost and carbon emission cost of the consumers can be reduced 24.98% and 25.87%, respectively.
