Modelling Battery Pack in Series and Parallel Combination to Estimate SOC for E-Vehicle

This paper focuses on battery pack modelling using MATLAB by the empirical method to estimate the state of charge by calculating the diffusion resistor current and the hysteresis voltage in parallel connected modules (PCM) and series connected modules (SCM). Worldwide, more than 200 million electric vehicles (EV's) will be used for transportation by next few years. In this paper, a modelling method is proposed in order to estimate state of charge (SoC) of a cell in series and parallel combination to form a battery pack for EV. A negligible difference is observed in simulation graph between the two modules.
