A Cuboid Dielectric Resonator Antenna With Shared Radiator for Full Duplex Application

based on the theory of characteristic mode (TCM), a neoteric method of mode cancellation is investigated to design a two-port antenna on a single dielectric resonator (DR) for simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR) application in this article. The two-port full-duplex antenna only consists of a cuboid DR block, a pair of microstrip lines along y-axis, and a pair of parallel metal probes along z-axis. Benefited from the characteristic of higher-order mode of the cuboid DR used in this design, none extra decoupling structures is needed, while isolation level between the transmitting port and the receiving port can be overly enhanced.
