Photonically Generated Waveforms Based on Single and Double Injection in a Semiconductor Laser for RADAR Applications

In this paper, we analyze laser response to single and dual-beam injections as a function of two different detuning frequencies. In addition, the emission characteristics were observed as a function of changing injection strengths. Using the redshift in emission frequency of the laser on changing injection strength, linear frequency modulated (LFM), dual LFM, and frequency-hopping LFM (FHLFM) signals were obtained by carefully combining the detuning frequencies and injection strengths of the Master lasers.
