Compact Octagonal Quad - Band Antenna for UWB Applications

Novel compact Multiband antenna operating in four different bands is proposed in this work. The octagonal patch antenna of 6mm radius is integrated on the top of FR4 Substrate material. The unique feature of the suggested antenna is that the quad band is achieved with varying the ground length. The designed octagonal patch offers return loss of −25.5 dB, −40.80 dB, −23.15 dB, −20.50 dB over the four bands. The voltage standing wave ratio of all the four bands is less than 2. The Band 1 is from 5.858 −7.847GHz which can be deployed for Commercial Wireless LAN application, the Band 2 ranges between 14.22 – 16.38 GHz finds application in KU-band, the Band 3 ranges from 20.69 – 22.30 GHz and is applicable for K-band, the band 4 is 26.45 – 28.60 GHz is very much applicable for 5G.
