Research on Grid Connection of Virtual Synchronous Generator and Diesel Generator

A control strategy of virtual synchronous generator based on power angle characteristics of synchronous generator is designed for independent distributed generation system, which enables the inverter to be connected in parallel with diesel generator in the form of voltage source. The designed control strategy realizes the seamless switching of the inverter to the power grid, and the inverter can adjust the active power output according to the command during grid connected operation. The inverter can quickly respond to the required output power when suddenly adding/removing load, effectively reducing the voltage amplitude and frequency fluctuation of the microgrid. Finally, the effectiveness of the designed control strategy is verified by Matlab/Simulink simulation.
