Identifying interphase short circuits in the tator of a multi-phase generator using coils

The interphase short circuits is a very destructive fault. The strong short-circuit current generated by this fault causes the winding to overheat burn but also generates destructive electromagnetic forces under the action of the generator’s magnetic field and causes irrecoverable damage to the rotor [1]. In this paper, the detection coil is buried in advance in a multi-phase generator. Identification of interphase short circuits faults by obtaining harmonic characteristics from the magnetomotive force generating in fault.
