Optimization of Current Conduction Angle of Switched Reluctance Motor Using Response Surface Model Based Procedure

A fast optimization-based procedure is implemented that constitutes the response surface model (RSM) based fitness function and genetic algorithm-based optimization. Multi-objective optimization is developed and used to optimize current conduction angles for the entire operating range. The formulated optimization problems response is taken with the variation of conduction angles as model design variables. Hence, the relationship between the variables and the objective function is studied while considering the constraint of conduction angle and phase current at various operating speeds. The pareto plot provides the optimum value of conduction angles while achieving multiple simultaneous objectives. The resultant for multi-objective problem is observed and compared using phase current and torque waveform at different operating points.
