The Effect of Deformed Load Voltage Input Signals on Interval Type II Fuzzy Logic Controller Based DSTATCOM Device

Nonlinear rectified loads deform the point of common coupling voltage signals, which they are used in some of the DSTATCOM device control algorithm as input signals. Furthermore, interval type II fuzzy logic controller based instantaneous reactive power theory uses these input signals for the estimation of source current reference signals. Moreover, the use of deformed point of common coupling voltage input signals decreases the efficiency of DSTATCOM device. This paper suggests that the installing of low pass filter, tuned to cut off the right value of harmonic spectrum of common coupling voltage wave signals, would improve the ability of DSTATCOM device in mitigation source current harmonics and in compensating load reactive power, which finally leading to improve the DSTATCOM device efficiency. The appropriate selection of the low pass filter improves the total harmonics distortion of the electrical source current signals to the value of 3.82%.
