Applications Impressed Current Cathodic Protection of the Ship Hull

Corrosion is a phenomenon that occurs as a reaction of metal with the environment in which it is located. There are several ways to protect metals from corrosion, and one of them is cathodic protection, where anodes are used in different designs. Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) is one of the conceivable uses of cathodic protection in ship hulls. This is by far the most efficient structure protection system against corrosion in seawater, where an external anode power source is used. ICCP is widely used in the protection of almost all ships. This paper will present the principle of operation of the ICCP system, its characteristics, as well as possible IT software solutions for simulating and modeling such a system on ships.
