Optimal Charging Scheduling of EV for executing Frequency Regulation in presence of Renewable

This paper proposed an Automatic Generation Control (AGC) through the Frequency Regulation (FR) in 2-Control area system in presence of renewables by applying intelligent charging strategy of Electric Vehicle (EV) and in presence of Battery Bank (BB). Simultaneously, the optimal tuning of Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller has been performed to minimalize the signal of Area Control Error (ACE) by imposing the Integral of the Time Weighted Absolute Error (ITAE) criteria. Concurrently, the optimal charging scheduling of EV has been performed in such a way that the daily charging cost of EV, incurred by Parking Lot Operator (PLO), will be minimized considering both Grid to Vehicle (G2V) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) and idle mode of operation. To handle the intermittent effect of renewables and the uncertainties related to EV driving cycles, 2m-Point Estimation Method (2m-PEM) has been applied. It has been seen that optimal tuning of PID controller along with the intelligent charging strategy of EV and BESS has the capability to minimize the adverse effect of renewable penetration has been reduced in significant manner. Later, the sturdiness of the proposed strategy has been evaluated through statistical methods.
