The Influence of Axial Flux Leakage from Motor Coils on the Magnetic Bearing and Shielding Measures

In the high-speed and compact magnetic levitation motor, the distance between the motor and the magnetic bearing is close. The axial flux leakage of the motor coil, introduced to the magnetic bearing easily, causes interference in the magnetic circuit of the magnetic bearing. This paper reports the crosstalk between the motor armature field and the magnetic field of the nearby magnetic bearing for the first time. The key factors affecting the magnetic field interference are explored, and the corresponding magnetic shielding measure is proposed.
