A Broadband Meta-surface Solar Cell Antenna with 100% Insolation

This paper proposes a broadband ground coplanar waveguide (GCPW) fed meta-surface solar cell antenna. It consists of a metal spade-shaped patch radiator, several rectangle solar cells, and three dielectric slabs. Two meta-surfaces formed by solar cells are located above and below the spade-shaped radiator, and separated by two foam dielectric slabs, respectively. exposure to sunlight, but also expands the working bandwidth of the antenna. The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less than 2 in the range of 2.09-4.08GHz, with a relative bandwidth of about 64.5%. In addition, a U-shaped coupling line is designed to facilitate active antenna debugging. This solar cell antenna can be used to design a green communication system.
