The Experiment Study of Thermocouple Power Sensor with Porous Ground Plane

An experimental investigation is conducted in a novel thermocouple power sensor with porous ground plane. To increase the sensitivity of the thermocouple chips, the ground plane of CPW is designed into porous structure to reduce heat transfer of the hot and cold junction. The experiment results show that the S

of the proposed thermocouple power sensor are less than −22.9 dB below 5 GHz, −21.9 dB below 10 GHz, and - 18.2 dB below 18 GHz. And the power measurement exhibits sensitivity about 10.94 mV/m W at 10 GHz, which indicates the proposed thermocouple power sensor with porous ground plane can effectively improve the sensitivity.
