Design of an all-metal Vivaldi antenna for plasma microwave diagnostics

In this paper, a miniaturized all-metal ultra-wideband Vivaldi antenna for plasma parameter diagnosis is proposed. The Vivaldi tapered line and the feed line are connected by an asymmetric structure, which not only satisfies the matching of high frequency bands, but also achieves the effect of miniaturization. Modular design is adopted for easy processing and assembly. The simulation results show that in the frequency range of 4.4-43.9 GHz, the
$\vert {\mathrm{S}11} \vert$
values are less than -10 dB, and the impedance bandwidth close to 10:1 can be achieved. In addition, the main lobes of the radiation patterns have no obvious splits in the range of 4.4-43.9 GHz with good symmetries.
